Voting Test

From what I have learned over the years to win a political campaign there are a few things that you need to win. They are Money, some political experience, a well known name, and support by different networks and political groups. There are three different ways candidates can come about by getting money. They can get it by hard money which is money rose under the guidelines set by the Federal Elections Commission. There is also soft money which is money given to the candidates indirectly from organizations for campaign needs. Money is a key factor in a campaign it’s needed for all the things needed to be done like commercial signs and news letters sent to voters houses. Another form of raising money is PAC’s which private groups that raise money for the politicians. Money seems to be the foundation to any election but I believe that you could have little money as long as you have supporters in the right people. Like in the Obama campaign it was obvious that the Obama was a name well known by the nation whether it had been grownups or even teens. The way to Obama campaign was run was excellent they made sure to attract different types of people and chose different ways of influencing people to vote Obama. Another thing that has to do with popularity with the voters is the bias of media and there will always be bias in media. Good bias and bad bias it’s just the way it is. Some media is like FOX and is extremely conservative and others are more liberal and there is no way to stop it. This media bias does sway a lot of the lemming votes though because on the emphasis on ones appearance and not their ideals. People like that are sadly what help choose who our next president will be. So we are now in a time where voter turnout is no longer dependent on whether you are a republican or a democrat whether you are pro life or any of those ideals but on whether you were portrayed well enough in the media to look like you would be a good president. This is the sad thing about America that people no longer feel the need to educate themselves politically to make an educated choice. In my opinion I would rather have a small voter turnout than a big one. Because if it is a small turnout that means it is mostly comprised of those people who do know the issues and took the time to think about who would be the better candidate. Instead of having a lot of lemmings voting for who they think had the best image. That is why I choose to not involve myself with government issues at the time because one person isn’t going to be able to change the fact that most Americans are idiots and do what the media tells them to.

  1. Cynicism not withstanding this is a well thought out paper. To be honest Grant, I think you got the politican in you too...you could make it work and influence positive change.
